The BOSS FyreBox is revolutionising firestopping methods for large bundles of mixed services. Designed to allow large bundles of pipes and cables to all pass through one single fire rated enclosure, the  Fire Transit Box is the only tested and proven method of firestopping multiple services with such simplicity of installation and ease of compliance. Commonly used for apartment entry configurations above an entry door to an SOU, the Fire Box is also suited for service risers, shafts, plant areas and data rooms in a variety of residential, commercial and industrial buildings.

The new generation of BOSS FyreBox is now tested and approved to AS1530.4: 2014 and AS4072.1-2005 for 30, 60, 90 and 120 minute configurations on a larger variety of services than ever before. New approvals relate to a wider variety of wall, concrete slab &  floor / ceiling systems.

The BOSS FyreBox allows you to group various electrical, plumbing, HVAC+R services all through one easy to use and easily certified box. Because services trades don’t need to treat their services individually, risk is removed from using incorrect products or not having them installed correctly.

  1. Up to 2 hour fire rating (FRL -/120/120)
  2. Up to Rw50 acoustic rating
  3. Approved for a wide range of walls, concrete slabs & floor/ceilings
  4. Wide variety of services and mixed combinations
  5. Saves up to 90% of labour costs
  6. Makes AS1851 periodic maintenance inspections simple and reliable
  7. Services can be easily added after installation
  8. Tested & approved to AS1530.4-2014 and AS4072.1-2005
  9. Many typical apartment service configurations available
  10. Large variety of electrical, plumbing & HVAC services certified

Easily fixed to the underside of concrete soffit before walls are built, or be installed into the wall during construction in a mid wall mount scenario. A range of fixing methods are available including retrofit options using equal angles. Recent additions to the range include retrofit options to concrete floor slabs and also ceiling approvals.

Once the box is installed, services simply “pass through” the box. There is no need to core individual penetrations for each service, or cutting any inserts, nor do you need to seal or treat every individual service. The unique Brush Seal allows services to be passed through the box at any time of construction, or even later after a project has been completed making it easier than ever for maintenance contractors and building managers to maintain fire compliance once the building is occupied.

HOW DOES IT WORK IN FIRE?

The BOSS FyreBox contains an advanced high pressure intumescent internally that upon getting exposed to high temperatures, expands to create a superior performing fire seal. Coupled with the unique Brush Seal that is designed to make the installation and compliance simple, ultimately leading to an industry-leading level of protection.

BOSS Retrofit Fire Collars prevent the spread of fire where PVC and PE plumbing pipes penetrate concrete fire walls and floors. Also for use on PP-R pipes, and polybutylene pipes.

Boss Fire Collars are suitable for on walls and floors. With the addition of the optional ‘click on’ flange oversize holes may be accommodated.

Unlike intumescent assisted mechanical damper type fire collars, Boss Fire Collars contain no fusible links or moving parts to require servicing. As the fire stopping intumescent material in our product is around the outside of the uninterrupted pipe it does not affect the performance of the pipe.

FireMastic-HPE™ is a high pressure exerting fire sealant to surpass all other sealants. Our flagship sealant is tested and approved to change the way firestopping is applied to pipes and penetrations.

Approved to AS1530.4 and EN1366 and offers an FRL of up to -/120/120 in a wide range of penetration systems, outperforming other leading sealants in independent fire tests.

FireMastic-HPE is a graphite-based, thixotropic, one-part acrylic emulsion that is designed to resist the passage of fire and smoke. Under heat, FireMastic-HPE will expand with enough pressure to close PVC pipes and seal around cables and metal pipes to maintain the integrity and insulation performance of the seal, yet without placing any unnecessary pressure on the building substrate.

FireMastic-HPE is supplied in cartridges suitable for caulking via an applicator gun or also available in buckets. It has excellent non-slump properties coupled with the ease of application due to its water-based nature.

The sealant is intended for use in either linear gap seals or services penetrations through walls where fire integrity and insulation needs to be preserved. Under fire conditions the product expands up to 40 times its volume and exerts pressure to the surrounding substrates leading to closure of the penetration. The integrity and insulation is then maintained by the stability of the remaining product char.

BOSS Fire & Safety’s range of FirePillow-240 covers all applications. Fire Pillows are the most common – treated fabric bags containing fire retardant granulated rockwool, securing penetrations in fire rated construction against the passage of smoke and the spread of fire. They are best suited to environments where pipes, telecommunications cables, cable trays and service shafts penetrate a fire-rated wall or floor.

BOSS also supply High Performance FirePillows and Intumescent FirePillows for environments where water, oil, chemicals and greater protection are required.

BOSS Cable Transits CT120 & CT240 are designed to prevent the spread of fire and smoke from one compartment to another where electrical power, data and comms cables penetrate through separating walls and floors.

The Cable Transit CT120 & CT240 mounting flange provides a quick and easy method of installing single or multiple Cable Transits, even in plasterboard partitions. The unique design means BOSS Cable Transits do not need mechanical fixings and clamp to the wall using metal flanges. By using larger flanges, multiple Cable transits can be banked together alongside each other, providing fire rated penetrations for multiple cables bundles, and with added changeability for future additions or alterations. The unit has a hinged split body which provides an easy retro-fit option where cables are pre-installed.

Tested and approved to AS1530.4 and AS4072.1.
