In 2018, demand exploded for the stylish industrial ‘Crittall’ look, fueled by Pinterest and Instagram posts.
But demand soon gave way to shock and in some cases outrage when unsuspecting customers discovered the cost.
Some of you may recall the episode of Grand Designs where a Ponsonby couple with a large budget and determination shocked the country when they revealed that the stunning black steel profiles had set them back $300k on joinery alone!
Recognising the need for affordable options, Potters recently introduced two ‘stick on’ options for interior partitions. The lightweight aluminium is attached to the glazing with industrial strength double sided tape. This means customers can now achieve the same industrial style glazing look, at a fraction of the cost.
The obvious benefit is that light-weight aluminium is much cheaper than steel and there is far less labour to fabricate each mullion & transom junction. In addition, false mullions and transforms means less panes of glass and much less labour to install.
If you’ve got the demand, but don’t have the budget or the timeframes – this is definitely an option worth considering.
