Sustainable materials featured in Blum Christchurch’s new purpose-built facility.

Potter Interior Systems proudly supplied a range of quality products and proven solutions to the new purpose-built Blum Christchurch headquarters. Designed by Warren and Mahoney the site features offices, state-of-the-art showroom and warehouse facilities.

The brief was to create spaces that focus on employee well-being by using high levels of natural light that increase mood and productivity. Acoustic performance considerations were also key to providing comfortable levels of noise while using sustainable materials that complement the natural environment.

This led to the installation of AMF Heradesign wood wool acoustic panels within the training workshop for their strong aesthetics, sound absorption and ability to control reverberation. Specifiers were further encouraged by using Heradesign as a carbon neutral product which eliminates impacts on the environment, whilst creating inviting spaces that stimulate the mind, well-being and mood of employees. Heradesign wood wool acoustic panels achieve a Group 1-S classification and use a unique magnesite binder and high-grade spruce timber from sustainable sources which both contribute to market-leading fire performance.

The main showroom is an impressive double-height, light-filled space that features AMF Thermatex Thermofon Black suspended ceiling tiles within a black Rondo Donn grid to provide high sound absorption and a smooth, striking appearance. Made with new generation bio-soluble mineral wool, clay and starch which contributes to the excellent acoustic performance. Our AMF Acoustic Range carries the Declare label.

Our A Series aluminium partitions paired with DS Doors + Sliders and powder coated in black create separate meeting spaces for acoustic privacy and collaboration, while still allowing visual connectivity within the environment. For further acoustic control Rigitone Matrix perforated plasterboard with continuous perforations has been installed as a feature ceiling in the breakout spaces for its innovative, VOC reducing Activ’Air technology which helps improve indoor air quality.

All Potter’s AMF Thermatex Acoustic Range and Aluminium Partitions carry the Declare label and are Red List free giving confidence that these products are non-toxic and maintain GreenTag’s Level A certification. Level A products achieve a sustainability factor of 100% ensuring healthy and ethically sourced products are used.

Potter Interior Systems can provide a complete commercial interior package, with aluminium partitions, ceiling grid and panels, acoustic wall coverings, steel stud and track, perforated plasterboard, hatches, whiteboards, insulation and passive fire protection — all easily adaptable and customisable for individual projects and spaces.
